Large Brecciated Jasper sphere

Brecciated jasper rock sphere, large. This material was collected in san simeon, ca as a huge stream boulder, then hauled to the vehicle in backpacks to take home. It features multi-colored jaspers that have come together tectonically, underwent fracturing and rehealing i. Brecciation due to seismic activity, and then cemented together by nature via silica injection. See photos showing different surface about this large sphere, all taken dry and outdoors. These spheres take days to initially saw first into a cube and then make about 22 more cuts to form a large "soccer ball". The "points" are ground and it is then put in into the large size three-headed sphere machine for a few days of grinding until you have a perfect orb. The orb is then then rough sanded through a series of successively finer grits of diamond pads and then brought to a full shiny polish using 25,000 grit diamond pads. Voila, this is a big boy at a full 6 diameter, weighing over 12 lbs. It is a statement piece for jasper lovers. It comes with its own stand.
